Meta Designs

Our friends at Meta Designs came back to us eight years after their first site with Third Sun, ready for a new design as they pivot their main offerings. Meta Designs is a Salt Lake City metal fabrication studio that has been building high-end custom architectural work by hand since 1999, with a specialty in kinetic elements that few firms in the country can match. Meta was ready to broaden their offerings, so their audience of architects, contractors, and designers with serious budgets could understand and appreciate the full range of Meta Designs' capabilities.

Our approach was to shift the site's center of gravity, restructuring the portfolio so stairs, railings, fireplaces, commercial work, and kinetic design all carry equal visual weight. We kept the clean structure and logo Meta Designs already had, but introduced an edgier, grittier visual palette and new photography from our friend David Newkirk that captured the human side of the work: sparks flying, hands-on production, and the precision they put into every finished piece. The goal throughout was to let the caliber of the craftsmanship speak for itself.

The new Meta Designs site feels as confident and unapologetic as the work it represents. The portfolio is organized clearly by project type, and the hero section and craft statement up front make it clear this is handmade, skilled fabrication; no robots, no AI. This site is no-nonsense and high-style, just like their craftspeople and the luxury installations they produce.
