Mapping Literary Utah

Back in 2019, we had the pleasure of partnering with then Utah Poet Laureate Paisley Rekdal to create something truly unique—an interactive digital archive mapping Utah's literary landscape. We designed a website featuring an interactive map of the state, a searchable directory of writers, and samples of their work, including many pieces written about Utah itself.

The site serves as an archive of the incredible talent our state inspires, showcasing everything from poetry and fiction to environmental writing and diverse voices that make up Utah's literary community.

This year, we refreshed the site with a more accessible design, an updated color palette, and the migration to Joomla 5—ensuring modern web standards and improved user experience for all. Since 2020, accessibility has been a core focus; every update is made with the goal of welcoming all readers, learners, and literary explorers, regardless of background or ability.
