Friends For Sight

  • Services Provided: Web Design
  • Narrative:

Long-time client Friends for Sight has been offering free vision services in Utah for almost 70 years. They offer screenings for children and adults, put on clinics, and created SightFest to help underprivileged children receive the vision care they need.

Friends for Sight came to us to help reimagine their website in 2022. They wanted a cleaner, brighter, and well-organized site where users could quickly find information and sign up for clinics and other events. We also repurposed some of their older content to provide eye health resources utilizing user-friendly headings and other formatting to create a clean layout.

Information on their programs and events is a central focus for Friends for Sight, so we also set out to make it easier to find the details and registration, including a color-coded calendar next to their latest news stories.

As you might expect, accessibility was a major goal for this project. We made sure the headings and formatting were optimized for screen readers, that the fonts are large and legible, and that the color contrast is bright and bold. We included a handy accessibility plug-in that offers users different ways to view the site and even includes a screen reader if desired.

We have loved working with Friends for Sight for all of these years and truly believe in their mission (and vision!). We appreciate the opportunity to create accessible, user-friendly sites that make the internet and better and more inclusive space for everyone. Check out their site and maybe even sign up to volunteer for a clinic!
