Design for Good 2021 — Now Accepting Applications!

March 15, 2021 Written by Marina Atherton-Howe

The application period is now open for our fifth annual Design for Good Community Grant Program. From our founding in 2005, Third Sun has always offered in-kind and affordable services, advice, and support to nonprofits and small businesses. We created the Design for Good Community Grant as an additional outlet for us to focus our in-kind work and have dedicated time and space for creating something impactful for the grantees and their communities. Through the grant, we are offering up to $25,000 in web design and branding services from Third Sun to help community-builders further their mission.

In light of the tumult of 2020, for last year's grant we decided to mix it up and select two grantees (you can read about our selection process here), and in 2021 we recognize that things are still tough. We’re hoping this grant could have a meaningful impact for an organization or business that has suffered during the pandemic. Did you catch the extra word in there? Yep! That’s right, this year we’ve decided to open the grant up to small business and nonprofit applicants.

Who are we looking for? Past grantees have been organizations working to make the community better, and have done big things like addressing hunger and food waste, supporting domestic violence survivors, and lifting up underserved groups. No matter the cause, the key is an organization that leads out for good and helps others. Many small businesses do this in their own way — maybe you have a shop or restaurant that welcomes all and brings the neighborhood together, or you push at the grassroots level for social good. We want to hear from you!

Thank you for your interest, the Design for Good 2021 applications are now closed. Stay tuned for our winner announcements.
