FRIENDS of Great Salt Lake

A local nonprofit with a flair all their own, FRIENDS of Great Salt Lake (FOGSL) are dedicated to their mission to preserve and protect the Great Salt Lake Ecosystem and to increase public awareness and appreciation of the lake through education, research, advocacy and the arts. They’ve been a Third Sun client since our very beginning over 15 years ago, and came to us for another re-envisioned design that remains true to their salty selves.

The Great Salt Lake is a beautiful subject, and FOGSL brought with them some fantastic images and video from their partner photographers that we were able to highlight. Quality imagery is a key element in visual communication, and it can help a project go smoothly when clients have existing high-quality images.

We infused new life into the site with refreshed colors inspired by their existing branding, and gave them some updated design elements that honor their unique spirit. These touches include shoreline footprints and birds at the bottom of pages.

They have a wealth of resources —  from learning about the lake and information for schools, to legislative updates and environmental action.
